Sanskrit Name: Anahata (अना हत), meaning "unstruck" or "unbeaten".
Color: Green/white/pink (Watermelon).
Element: Air.
Symbol: Gazelle
Lotus: 12 Petals
Gland: Thymus
Bija Mantra: HAM
Associations: Love, compassion, empathy, emotional balance, healing, and connection to others.
Imbalance: Can result in emotional blockages, fear of intimacy, lack of empathy, anger, and difficulties in relationships.
Asana: Several yoga poses are effective for opening and balancing Anahata, with a focus on backbends and chest openers. These include Camel Pose (Ustrasana), Cobra Pose (Bhujangasana), Fish Pose (Matsyasana), Bridge Pose (Setu Bandhasana), and Wheel Pose (Urdhva Dhanurasana) and many others.
Pranayama: Anulom Vilom (Alternate Nostril Breathing) and Bhramari Pranayama (humming bee breath) are highly recommended.
