Location: Top of the head.

Sanskrit Name: Sahasrara (सहस्रा र), meaning "thousand-petaled".

Color: Violet or White.

Element: Thought or Universal Energy.

Symbol: Eagle/ Butterfly

Lotus: One Thousand Petals (50 letters of the Sanskrit alphabet 20 times over)

Gland: Pineal

Bija Mantra: Silent Om - Universal Vibration - SO/HUM (I am that, that I am).

Associations: Spirituality, enlightenment, connection to the divine, universal consciousness, and self-knowledge.

Imbalance: May lead to apathy, greed, arrogance, loss of faith, and psychological problems.

Asana: Headstand (Sirsasana) and Supported Headstand (Salamba Sirsasana). Other beneficial poses include Rabbit Pose (Sasangasana), Corpse Pose (Savasana), and seated meditations like Easy Pose (Sukhasana) and Lotus Pose (Padmasana).
